Meat Lovers Pizza – cooked on the Ozpig – Cast Iron Boys
Meat Lovers Pizza Cooked on the OzPig
Today Mick made a simple meat lovers pizza and cooked it on the Ozpig.
Before you prepare your pizza, make sure you’ve gotten your heat source ready. We’ve got the Ozpig fired up with a nice flame and placed a diffuser plate on the top. Grab a 4.5 quart camp oven to invert over the diffuser and create an oven like cavity. Alternatively, if you have the Ozpig wok, this can also be turned upside down in the same manner.
For a quick pizza version, he’s used a pre-made base he bought from the supermarket. Of course you could always make your own dough with yeast and flour. There’s also a quick and easy two ingredient Greek yoghurt based dough that’s been made multiple times because of it’s simplicity.
Grab a selection of your favourite meats from the deli – Mick’s grabbed salami, pepperoni, proscuitto, olives and cheese, plus BBQ sauce for the base.
Lay out some quality greaseproof paper and lay your base on top. Sauce up your pizza base, add your favourite toppings and cover in cheese. Carefully place the pizza on the diffuser plate then cover with upturned camp oven. Leave it for 10-15 minutes or until cooked, then wearing protective gloves, remove the camp oven and serve.
That’s it really – simple, quick and delicious! You can of course top it with anything you like – think BBQ chicken, mushroom and avocado or seafood marinara with a garlic cream sauce. The possibilities are endless! If you have an Ozpig why not try it next time you’re camping, or even just an easy meal in the backyard with family and friends.
