Before you embark on the journey of making your bush donuts, it’s essential to get your heat source ready. Today, I’m utilizing a camp oven on my Ozpig to ensure the perfect cooking environment.

Ozpig Cooker

  • The Ozpig is a versatile cooking and heating device that is ideal for camping. It offers a wide range of functionalities, making it a fantastic all-round companion for outdoor adventures.

Now, let’s dive into the donut-making process. Start by cutting off all the crusts from your bread slices. Then, in a separate bowl, combine the egg and sugar, followed by gradually adding flour and milk to create a smooth and luscious batter.

The next step is incredibly simple—just create jam sandwich triangles, without the need for butter.

Now comes the slightly messy part. Dip the sandwich triangles into the batter and carefully place them into the hot oil. Exercise caution while doing so.

Now, it’s time to play the waiting game. Allow the donuts to cook until they turn a delicious golden brown on both sides. Once they are perfectly cooked, use a spoon or tongs to carefully remove them from the hot oil and let them drain on a sheet of paper towel.
