The Cast Iron Boys were doing live camp oven demonstrations on the “Campfire Cooking Stage” 4 times daily at the inaugural Gold Coast Caravan & Camping Expo by Caravanning Queensland.

If you have been to one of our shows you would know that it is a “must-see” opportunity for anyone interested in cooking in the great outdoors with camp ovens. Our camp oven demonstrations are designed to be fun and informative for beginners and intermediates alike.

Volunteers were brought on stage to get their hands dirty and learn how to make some damper. The selected audience members also played their part in preparing apricot chicken for the boys lunch later that afternoon. They were then rewarded for their efforts with some fantastic prizes supplied by OzTrail Leisure Products. These products included camp ovens, lifters and more. Not bad for a bit of fun on stage in front of a live audience, what do you reckon!

The event saw 14,833 visitors go through the gates on the weekend of the 6-8th of March 2015. It was the biggest caravan event to hit the Gold Coast in 2015! There were over 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest in caravans, campers, tent trailers, 5th wheelers and motorhomes.
